* At 223 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 11 miles south of Boydton to near Zebulon to Dunn, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, Roanoke Rapids, Henderson, Smithfield, Nashville, Louisburg, Warrenton, Wilson and Mount Olive.

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris generated by damaging winds can be deadly. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
