Wilmington Police arrest two men in connection with two 2022 shots fired incidents, January shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested two men in connection with two 2022 shots fired incidents and a January shooting incident.
On December 25, 2022, at approximately 9:06 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of West 29th Street, in reference to a call for shots fired. Officers located an occupied residence that was struck by gunfire, but there were no injuries.
On December 30, 2022, at approximately 8:33 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1700 block of North Pine Street, in reference to a call for shots fired. Officers located an occupied vehicle that was struck by gunfire, but there were no injuries.
On January 5, at approximately 4:48 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1300 block of Wilson Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male gunshot victim, and a 14-year-old female gunshot victim, who were both transported to the hospital in stable condition.
These incidents were assigned to Detective Brendan Wham and Detective Douglas Rivell of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of their investigations, they identified 19-year-old Emmanuel Lambert and 19-year-old Darnell Rollins as suspects. The case was presented to the New Castle County Grand Jury on June 19, and an indictment was returned for both suspects.
On June 24, at approximately 2:51 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division took Emmanuel Lambert into custody in the 200 block of East 22nd Street, without incident. Darnell Rollins is currently being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on unrelated charges.
Emmanuel Lambert has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Attempted Assault (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Four Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Three Counts
- Conspiracy (Second Degree) – Three Counts
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – Two Counts
Darnell Rollins has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Attempted Assault (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Four Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Three Counts
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Six Counts
- Conspiracy (Second Degree) – Three Counts
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – Two Counts
