The Watervliet Police Department is seeking to hire both new and lateral police officers.
The first step in becoming a (new) police officer is to take the NYS Civil Service exam. The exam is administered by the Watervliet Civil Service Commission (not the WPD). The exam is scheduled for Sept 9, 2023. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THE EXAM BY JULY 25, 2023. To register, contact the Civil Service Commission (www.watervliet.com) or stop down to City Hall, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm to fill out an exam application. Hurry, less than 2-weeks left to register for the exam.
