Excessive Heat Warning until 11:00PM Sunday

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures 100 to 112 expected.

* WHERE...Shasta Lake Area / Northern Shasta County, Burney Basin / Eastern Shasta County, Northern Sacramento Valley, Central Sacramento Valley, Southern Sacramento Valley, Carquinez Strait and Delta, Northern San Joaquin Valley, Mountains Southwestern Shasta County to Western Colusa County, Northeast Foothills/Sacramento Valley and Motherlode Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 11 PM PDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hottest temperatures are expected over the weekend with widespread Major Heat Risk and areas of Extreme Heat Risk. Warmest overnight lows will be in the foothills and northern Sacramento Valley. Conversely, area waterways will continue to run cold and fast, creating dangerous conditions for those seeking relief in rivers and lakes.

Instructions:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
