Air Quality Alert today; Cooling Centers open at the Senior Center and Public Library 
The North Brunswick Office of Emergency Management advises residents that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert today, Wednesday, July 12.
A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children...people suffering from asthma... heart disease or other lung diseases...and the elderly. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.
Also, due to anticipated temperatures over 90 degrees the rest of week, Cooling Centers will be open Wednesday, July 12 through Friday, July 14 at the North Brunswick Senior Center, 15 Linwood Place and Wednesday, July 12 through Saturday, July 15 at the North Brunswick Public Library, 880 Hermann Road.

Wednesday, July 12 through Friday, July 14: 10 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
The cooling center hours at the Public Library are:
Wednesday, July 12: 9:30 a.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Thursday, July 13: 9:30 a.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Friday, July 14: 9:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Saturday, July 15: 9:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
