The Byram Township Environmental Commission and Recreation Committee have been active participants in the Trex Recycling Film Challenge. 

The recycling challenge is offered to municipalities, schools, and civic organizations nationwide by the Virginia-based Trex Company. If enough pounds of eligible plastics are collected, the company awards a bench, made of recycled materials, to the participating group.

With the help of our residents coupled with the hard work of our commission and committee volunteers and township staff, we collected and turned over enough pounds of eligible plastics to afford the township the opportunity to have been awarded 5 benches made of recycled material’s which were placed at various Township parks and playgrounds.

These efforts have surpassed our original goals and we couldn’t be more pleased with the success we have had with this program. 

Byram Township has now completed our Trex Recycling Film Challenge objectives and will no longer be a collection point for eligible plastics. 

Again, we want to thank everyone who participated in this program for their efforts, and we would ask that residents once again recycle their plastics and no longer drop them off at the municipal building as our Trex Recycling Film Challenge collection bins have been removed from the site.
