The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is providing high-visibility traffic enforcement in parts of East Oakland where we've seen an increase in traffic fatalities.
We are working with other city departments and community members as part of Safe Oakland Streets (SOS), a Citywide initiative to prevent serious and fatal traffic crashes and eliminate crash inequities on Oakland's streets.
The SOS approach focuses on strategies that will save lives and deliver equitable outcomes.
