On July 12th and 13th, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the United States Marshal Service, North Carolina Probation and Parole, and United States Secret Service conducted a two day campaign focusing on sex offender registry compliance. The purpose of this campaign was to ensure that the offenders were complying with their court ordered restrictions. In addition to court ordered restrictions, many of these offenders are currently on active probation.
During the course of this two-day campaign 32 compliance checks were conducted throughout Rutherford County. Several offenders were found to be noncompliant with their restrictions and investigations are ongoing. As a part of this campaign narcotics, firearms, and multiple digital devices were seized. Additional information pertaining to charges will be released at a later date.
