Fatal Traffic Collision on Sonoma Mountain Parkway in Petaluma 
On Friday, July 14, 2023, at approximately 6:51 pm, Petaluma Police Department officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the area of Sonoma Mountain Parkway at Linnet Lane. Multiple citizens called to report a motorcycle and a minivan had been involved in a serious collision. Petaluma Police Officers and Petaluma Fire Department Paramedics arrived within minutes. Tragically, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The investigation is still on going, but preliminarily it was determined the motorcyclist was driving northbound on Sonoma Mountain Parkway. As the motorcyclist approached Linnet Lane, they collided with a minivan which was making left-hand turn from Linnet Lane onto Sonoma Mountain Parkway. At this point in time, the cause of the collision is still under investigation. Currently, there is no indication that alcohol was a factor in the collision.
