OWIs with Seized Firearms
On 07/15/23, at 1:44am, a Janesville officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Milton Ave and Morse St. The driver, Steven L Delaney, showed signs of impairment and admitted to smoking marijuana prior to driving. Steven complied with standardized field sobriety tests and subsequently was arrested for operating while intoxicated (1st offense). A legal blood draw was taken from Steven, the results are pending. A search of the vehicle resulted in a firearm, 3 loaded magazines, and drug paraphernalia being seized.
On/ 7/15/23. at 2:44am a Janesville officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Center Ave and State St. The driver, Alexandro Sotelo, showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana prior to driving. Alexandro complied with standardized field sobriety tests and subsequently was arrested for operating while intoxicated (1st offense). A legal blood draw was taken from Alexandro, the results are pending.
A search of the vehicle resulted in 2 firearms, 2 loaded magazines, and THC gummies. The passenger Ernesto Carbajal-Olivas claimed ownership of one of the firearms and the THC gummies. Ernesto admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the night. A legal blood draw was taken from Ernesto, the results are pending.
