* At 806 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding has been reported already along secondary roads near Interstate 40. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cuervo, Newkirk, Variadero, Conchas Lake State Park, Conchas and Conchas Dam. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 287 and 310. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 49 and 68...and between Mile Markers 70 and 77.
