Flash Flood Warning until 11:30AM
The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Cheshire County in southern New Hampshire... Hillsborough County in southern New Hampshire...
* Until 1130 AM EDT.
* At 733 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated torrential rainfall with extreme rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour moving into southern Cheshire and Hillsborough Counties. The expected rainfall rate will drop an inch in less than 30 minutes, with some locations seeing a total of 1 to 3 inches through 9 am. The intensity of the rainfall will create almost pure runoff resulting in flash flood potential. The rain is falling over areas that have saturated ground which will likewise support rapid runoff. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Manchester, Nashua, Merrimack, Keene, Jaffrey, Henniker, Bedford, Milford and Amherst. This includes the following Rec locations... Mount Monadnock and North Pack Monadnock. This morning rainfall will be followed by additional heavy rain showers throughout the day, so stay tuned for additional or updated information regarding the areas flash flood risk.
