Activity for July 14-16, 2023:
July 14, 2023:
- Officers responded to the Courthouse for a warrant pick-up. A 41-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
- Officer Thoresen was in the area of First Street and Park Road when he heard shots fired. Multiple casings were located near the intersection.
- Officer Thoresen conducted a traffic stop at East Morrell Street and South Elm Avenue. Felon in possession of ammunition charges will be sought on a 35-year-old male.
- Officer Reynaga heard several shots fired while in the 1600 block of East Michigan Avenue. He observed a vehicle traveling on East Michigan Avenue at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located unoccupied at Page Avenue and South Pleasant Street after crashing; shell casings were found inside the vehicle.
July 15, 2023:
- Officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute in the 1200 block of Sheldon Street. A 26-year-old male was arrested for domestic assault – strangulation.
- Officer Panther responded to the 200 block of North East Avenue for a warrant pick-up. A 34-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
- Sergeant Burkart conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Cortland Drive. The 23-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and possession of open intoxicants.
- Sergeant Burkart conducted a traffic stop near West Morrell Street and Greenwood Avenue. The 33-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
July 16, 2023:
- Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North Elm Avenue for a domestic dispute. A 37-year-old female was arrested for domestic assault, 2nd offense.
- Officers responded to a domestic situation in the 300 block of Steward Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the 51-year-old male suspect.
- Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Adrian Avenue for shots fired. Hours later, a 28-year-old male showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the elbow. The investigation is ongoing.
- Officers responded to the 700 block of Lansing Avenue for a personal welfare check. An 18-year-old male was transported to the hospital. Resisting and obstructing charges will be sought on the male.
