Subject Arrested For Several Felony Vandalisms

Suspect(s): Jacob Castiglia, 18-year-old Cloverdale resident
On Sunday, July 16, 2023, at approximately 10:41am, Petaluma Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North McDowell Boulevard for a vandalism in progress. The reporting party told dispatch they were witnessing a subject actively spray-painting graffiti on a sound barrier near a bus stop.
Officers arrived in the area and located Jacob Castiglia attempting the flee the area on a bus. Officers quickly contacted Castiglia and detained him without incident. During the investigation, Castiglia admitted to several more vandalisms (approximately 6) throughout Petaluma. Castiglia was positively identified by witnesses and was ultimately placed under arrest for Felony Vandalism.
During a search of Castiglia, Officers located the spray paint and marker used to commit the vandalisms.
Castiglia was transported and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for several counts of Felony Vandalism.
