Advisory
On 07/17/23 at approximately 8pm, officers from the Janesville Police Department received information of a resident in the 400 blk of N. Pearl St who may be in possession of a firearm. The person was identified as Isaiah T. Ruffins, a 20-year-old male. A check of Ruffins’ criminal history showed he was a convicted felon. Ruffin was previously convicted in Dane County Court for state statute 940.08(1), Homicide by Negligent Handling of Dangerous Weapon/Explosive. He was sentenced to 6 months jail time and 5 years extended supervision on September 6, 2022.
Officers developed enough information and searched Ruffins’ residence locating a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition inside. Ruffins was taken into custody at his place of employment. Ruffins was held at the Rock County Jail on the following charges.
