DETAILS:  Ptl. Silcox was detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that Huyen Kelly had concealed cases of baby formula and infant clothing (valued at $405.88) into a bag, which she then placed underneath of her baby stroller. Kelly exited the store without paying for any of the merchandise. Kelly was charged with Shoplifting and has a court date pending.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to a shoplifting in progress at Wegmans. When Sgt. Brodowski arrived on scene, John Lecomte had already left the store, but was found in the parking lot still in possession of a shopping cart containing alcoholic beverages valued at $158.95 that was not paid for. Lecomte was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to a shoplifting in progress at Best Buy. When Ptl. Ventura arrived on scene, she found Justin Wood walking outside and away from the store and detained him. He was found in possession of a PlayStation video game and two tools that were used to remove anti-shoplifting devices from their packages. According to store Loss Prevention, Wood had removed anti-shoplifting devices from multiple games and staged them around the store. Wood was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  On June 17th at 5:30 PM three female suspects entered the Sunglass Hut located in the MarketFair mall, distracted the store employee, and collectively stole six (6) pairs of designer sunglasses valued at $2,536.00. The shoplifting was immediately reported to mall security, but not the police. An alert mall security officer followed the suspects into the parking lot and observed the two vehicles the suspects left in. Follow-up investigation by Det. N. Barber and Det. B. Jany led to all three suspects being identified and charged with Shoplifting. Alexander, Cheston, and Hood all have future court dates pending.

DETAILS:  Earlier in the day, officers responded to the Extended Stay hotel to investigate fraudulent activity possibly linked to someone staying there. Hunter O’Connor was identified as a person of interest, and was determined to be a “Wanted Person” out of Lawrence Twp., and also had additional warrants for his arrest from Lawrence and East Windsor. He was not present at the time of the initial investigation, but when Hunter arrived back at the hotel, officers were notified and went back to look for him. Ptl. Hoffman found O’Connor attempting to get into the room where he had been staying. Ptl. Hoffman advised O’Connor that there were warrants for his arrest, and he reacted by running away. After a short foot pursuit, Ptl. Hoffman was able to get control of O’Connor and arrest him. O’Connor was processed at WWPD Headquarters and committed to the Mercer County Correction Center.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to a shoplifting at Wegmans that had just occurred. Investigation found that Jose Dominguez had filled a shopping cart full of merchandise (to include alcoholic beverages) valued at $788.42. He then went to the bathroom where he spent several minutes, then left the store without paying. Store Asset Protection confronted Dominguez in the parking lot and were able to get all their merchandise back. Dominguez was asked to provide identification and he told Asset Protection that he had to get his license from his car. When he got to his car, he drove away, but not before Asset Protection took photos of his license plate. Dominguez was determined to be a resident of Hightstown, so Hightstown Police were requested to attempt to detain Dominguez. Hightstown Patrol Officer Martin Moreno located Dominguez, detained him, and turned him over to the custody of Ptl. Fiore. Dominguez was also found to have a warrant for his arrest from Hightstown. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates with Mercer County Superior Court and Hightstown Municipal Court.

LaForge was detailed to Target for someone being detained for shoplifting.  Investigation found that Liam Decker selected a Lego set valued at $89.99, took it to a quiet part of the store, put it into a bag he had with him, and passed all points of sale without paying. Decker was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Officer LaForge was detailed to Target for someone being detained for shoplifting. Investigation found that Stephie Simeus selected $337.67 worth of merchandise that she placed into her shopping cart. She then proceeded to the self-checkout where she purchased a $10 gift card, did not pay for anything in her cart, and left passing all points of sale. Simeus was charged with shoplifting and has a future court date pending.

DETAILS:  While on patrol, Ptl. D. Borup observed a blue Ford Taurus wagon stopped in the painted median portion of U.S. Route 1 and Quakerbridge Road. Upon investigation, he found the driver of the vehicle, Saquan Marshall, to be sleeping and he had to be awakened. He showed signs of impairment from the consumption of alcoholic beverages so he was asked to step out of his car. He had difficulty opening his door, so Ptl. Fiore assisted him. As the door was being opened, Ptl. Fiore could see an unsecured revolver type handgun in the side pocket of the door. He also noticed that the revolver was loaded with ammunition. It was later determined that one of the bullets in the gun had previously been fired. Due to a prior felony conviction, it was illegal for Marshall to be in possession of any firearms and ammunition. Marshall was placed under arrest and processed at WWPD Headquarters. He was later committed to the Mercer County Correction Center.

Arrested: Tracey D. Rhodes
                Resident of Trenton, NJ 08609
 
DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Burlington for a shoplifting involving two suspects who had just left the store. Investigation found that Tracey Rhodes and an unidentified male had filled two carts full of merchandise and headed toward the exit. Store employees attempted to stop them before they left, but the suspects kept going despite the inventory security alarms activating. The employees followed them outside, and while in parking lot of Target, the male threw a pair of new shoes at them and ran. Rhodes also ran, but not before grabbing some items from out of her cart to take with her. Rhodes was located at the bus stop by Ptl. J. Collins, and found to have warrants for her arrest from Hamilton and Trenton. She was later charged with shoplifting and released with future dates with Mercer County Superior Court, and Hamilton and Trenton Municipal Courts.
