Redevelopment Walking Tours, 7/21, 7/26 & 7/31:
The Borough is holding a series of Redevelopment Walking Tours to review and answer questions about the Borough's downtown redevelopment plans. The group, led by Councilman Matt Hale, will meet outside at Penstock Coffee at 13 So. 3rd Avenue this Friday, July 21st at 8 AM, Wednesday, July 26th at 12:30 PM and Monday, July 31st at 7 PM. Tours are expected to last 1.5 hours, depending on the number of attendees. RSVPs are not required, but appreciated; please email [email protected] to let us know if you are coming.
Parkstock Music Festival, Thursday 7/27, 8/3, 8/10 & 8/31
Highland Park's popular outdoor concert series is back on Thursday nights at Donaldson Park, Grove 1, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm starting in late July. Select food vendors will be there to sell food to accompany the music. Check out the lineup below!

Join Main Street Highland Park on Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. at the Municipal Lot on Raritan Avenue between 2nd & 3rd Avenues for the outdoor movie series. Up next: Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (7/8) and Aliens (7/22).
National Night Out, Tuesday 8/1
Highland Park’s National Night Out, hosted by the Highland Park Police Department (HPPD), will take place on Tuesday, August 1st from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Stop & Shop parking lot, 424 Raritan Avenue. National Night Out is an annual opportunity for the HPPD to connect with the community and provide a safe and fun evening for kids and families.
Highland Swing Orchestra Big Band Performance, Wednesday 8/2
Join Highland Park’s own 15 piece Big Band playing swing classics from the 1930s – 1960s at 7:30 p.m. under the Susan Welkovits Pavilion located on Raritan Avenue (between 2nd & 3rd Avenues).
Fireworks in the Park, Thursday 8/31
Join your neighbors and community members as we celebrate the end of the summer season with a bang! Festivities start at 5:00 p.m. with face painting, kid games, music and 18 food vendors at Donaldson Park. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 pm.
Summer Reading and Discovery Programs, 6/20 – Thursday 8/31
Registration is now open for the library's Summer Reading & Discovery programs. Highland Park residents of all ages can read and complete a variety of activities to earn prizes throughout the summer.
Free Groceries distribution H.P. Gives a Hoot Grocery Program, Tuesdays 7/18 & 7/25
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are held every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursday 7/27 & Saturdays 7/15 & 7/29
The Highland Park food pantry distribution will take place at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. Visit the Borough website for additional dates. For more information contact Nicole Huff at (732) 819-0052.
Bulk pick-up by Appointment
Reminder to residents that Bulk Waste Collection are by appointment and can be scheduled on Wednesdays during the months of September and October. To make an appointment, please call Public Works at 732-247-9379. Each household may request up to two collections per year.
Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult and youth programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
