Full Notification

At 0714 hours, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a radio call of a person down near the businesses in the 2800 block of Cochran Street. The initial patrol response located a subject deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Detectives are now on-scene awaiting the Coroner’s office for further investigation. There is no current evidence of any additional victims or injured persons and no threat to the public. Where possible, we ask everyone to avoid the area of Cochran Street between Sycamore Drive and Galena Ave for the next few hours. Should any information change, SVPD will update the public via Nixle.
