* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northwestern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... Northeastern De Baca County in east central New Mexico... Southwestern Quay County in east central New Mexico... Southwestern Curry County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 900 PM MDT.

* At 817 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 10 miles east of House to 7 miles northeast of Fort Sumner, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Fort Sumner, Melrose, House, Saint Vrain, Tolar, Taiban and Mcalister. This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 326 and 376.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CURRY, NM ... DE BACA, NM ... QUAY, NM ... ROOSEVELT, NM

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. High winds and large hail can spread quickly across open rangeland.
