LOCATION: 13400 block of Kiowa Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): David James Myers, 27-year-old male of Apple Valley
Amanda Michelle Smith, 39-year-old female of Apple Valley
Michael Jay Myers, 58-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On July 20, 2023, Deputies Tyler Loup and Ryan Grissom, from the MET (Multiple Enforcement Team) Unit with Apple Valley Police Department, acting on information received, obtained and served a search warrant for a residence in the 13400 block of Kiowa Road in the Town of Apple Valley.
During the service of the search warrant, methamphetamine, heroin, a taser and drug paraphernalia were found. The drugs and paraphernalia were accessible to a young child living at the residence and rat feces was found throughout. Children and Family Services was contacted, and the child was released to a family member.
The residents, David James Myers, Amanda Michelle Smith and Michael Jay Myers were arrested for child cruelty and operating a drug house. Michael Myers is a previously convicted felon and thus prohibited from owning or possessing a taser. Michael Myers was arrested and released at the scene.
David Myers and Amanda Smith were arrested and transported to High Desert Detention Center where they are each being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.
