INCIDENT: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
LOCATION: Luna Road and Amargosa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Gerardo Cruz Rodriguez, 55-Year-Old Male, Resident of Hesperia
VICTIM(S): 47-Year-Old Adult Male, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 16, 2023, at approximately 8:56 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to a wrong-way driver in a silver Ford sport utility vehicle, that collided with a dark colored Chevy sedan in the westbound lanes of Amargosa Road near Luna Road. The driver of the Chevy did not sustain any injuries from the collision.
The driver of the Ford, Gerardo Cruz Rodriguez, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was medically cleared before being booked into custody at High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence of alcohol.
