Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with an armed business robbery that occurred on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., a male entered 7-Eleven, in the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue, walked behind the counter, and demanded cash from the attendant at gunpoint. The suspect stole approximately $4,000.00 from the register before fleeing, heading east on E. Runyon Street.

Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a young, Black male with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black Jordan Retro sneakers, red gloves, and a white face mask. 

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
