Strong storms possible this afternoon/evening; Cooling Centers open Wednesday - Saturday
The North Brunswick Office of Emergency Management advises residents that strong thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into the evening.
Coverage turns scattered early to mid afternoon before tapering off toward sunset. Storms can turn strong to even borderline severe, producing isolate damaging wind gusts and some hail. Even some poor drainage flooding issues can arise. By tonight, we dry out but remain quite muggy.
The muggy airmass lingers into the rest of the week, with a major heat up on the way. High temperatures expected to rise into the upper 90s Thursday and Friday, with heat indices breaking triple digits.
