On Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, neighborhoods across the nation are coming together to get to know their neighbors while enhancing police-community partnerships. The City of Watervliet is one of 146 communities in New York State – and one of 17,000 nationwide – to host a National Night Out event.

Join us at the Watervliet Pool (1530 2^nd Ave) on August 1^st from 5pm to 7pm to take back the night! You’ll meet your police officers and local officials. Join us for swimming (no pool pass needed), hotdogs, popcorn, freeze pops, and music. All free! Check out a police car or see the specialized equipment the WPD utilize on a day-to-day basis. Thinking about becoming a police officer? NNO is a perfect opportunity to meet members of WPD and ask questions or grab an application for the upcoming police officer exam (deadline to take the exam has been extended to August 4^th).
