DANGEROUS HEAT EXPECTED THE NEXT FEW DAYS
DANGEROUS HEAT EXPECTED THE NEXT FEW DAYS...
Very hot conditions will spread across eastern Illinois over the next
few days. High temperatures in the mid to upper 90s are likely, and
may reach 100 degrees on Friday.
There is some uncertainty on heat index values on Wednesday,
dependent on cloud cover from any showers and storms in the morning, but it is likely to reach above 100 degrees if the clouds are not a factor. On Thursday and Friday, a heat index of 105 to 110 degrees is likely.
If you have outdoor plans for the next few days, try to schedule them
to the early morning or evening if possible. Drink plenty of fluids,
stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up
on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be
left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
