It has been reported that Verizon devices, including cell phones, landlines, and internet services, are not working on the east coast.

For emergency calls with Verizon cell phones the Cranford Police Department asks callers to please send a Text Message to 911 if you cannot call directly.

1. Open the message app on your phone or wireless device.
2. In “To” type “911” (there is no need to add “-“)
3. In the message field type the location, (address and municipality) and a brief description of the problem.

Non-emergency phone service may also be affected.  Should you need to report a non-emergency matter to the Cranford Police Department or Cranford Fire Department but can not complete your call normally, please use the "NIXLE TIP" feature at the bottom of this message, or send the CPD a message in our free Cranford PD App.  Our personnel will be monitoring non-emergency email messaging throughout the day.
