City of McHenry's Current Water Conservation Status: Yellow 
Summer's rising temperatures often coincide with rising outdoor water use especially during times of low rainfall. Effective July 26, 2023, the City of McHenry’s current water conservation status is “YELLOW.” Yellow restrictions state:
- Even number street addresses may use water for outdoor uses only on even calendar dates during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Odd number street addresses may use water for outdoor uses only on odd calendar dates during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- No lawn sprinkling on July 31 or August 31.
