The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety will host its annual National Night Out event on Wednesday, August 2nd, 4pm-7pm in front of our central station (500 City Center Drive). NNO, usually held on the first Tuesday of August, was moved to Wednesday this year as Sonoma County first responders from all agencies throughout the county are being honored at the Giants game for their sacrifice and dedication. To ensure that more staff would be accessible to the community and participate in NNO this year, the event day was changed from Tuesday to Wednesday to make that accommodation.
This year’s highly celebrated event will give community members a chance to tour multi-agency emergency vehicles and speak with first responders from Rohnert Park DPS (fire and police), Sonoma State University Police, American Medical Response, and the SAFE TEAM.
Free food, children's games, face painting, safety resources, and swag will be provided during the three-hour extravaganza. Increasing safety for all, the NNO event will also include important educational outreach from Verity, Emergency Prep Help, the Rohnert Park Library, the Animal Shelter, Public Works, the Senior Center, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary Club. Additional organizations, such as Rebounderz, have joined our event to provide families with the ultimate summer experience.
Community members attending, are encouraged to help us provide low-income students with school supplies by adding an item to our "Pack the Patrol Car" campaign at the Rotary Club booth. All school supplies needed for students grades K-12th.
As our mission is to build trust and fortify relationships with our community, we hope our neighborhoods will come out in full force.
We cannot wait to meet you!
