The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Bayfield County in northwestern Wisconsin... Southeastern Douglas County in northwestern Wisconsin... Northwestern Sawyer County in northwestern Wisconsin... Northeastern Washburn County in northwestern Wisconsin...

* Until 900 PM CDT Thursday.

* At 506 PM CDT Thursday, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cable, Seeley, Namekagon Lake, Namekagon, Spider Lake, Totagatic Lake, Lake Owen, Lost Land Lake, Nelson Lake, Teal Lake, Totagatic Flowage, Middle Eau Claire Lake and Ghost Lake.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BAYFIELD, WI ... DOUGLAS, WI ... SAWYER, WI ... WASHBURN, WI

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather Service at 1-800-685-8612.
