INCIDENT: Minor Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Utah Trail & Sunset Drive, Twentynine Palms
INVOLVED PARTY(S): Driver 1, 32 year-old female resident of Twentynine Palms / Driver 2, 42 year-old male resident of Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On July 27, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., city of Twentynine Palms deputies responded to an unknown injury traffic collision at Utah Trail and Sunset Drive. Deputies learned Vehicle 1, a white Ford Focus, drove northbound on Utah Trail and collided head on into Vehicle 2, a grey Subaru Ascent, which drove southbound on Utah Trail.
The driver of Vehicle 1 sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center where she was later released. The driver of Vehicle 2 was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Both north and southbound Utah Trail were closed with the assistance of San Bernardino County Fire for approximately 30 minutes, between Sunset Drive and Baseline Road, while deputies conducted their scene investigation.
