Ward Cove Bridge Intermittent Closures 
July 28, 2023 UPDATE: Ward Creek Bridge lane closures
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to replace the Ward Creek Bridge No. 747 located along North Tongass Highway. A geotechnical investigation is needed to support the future replacement of the bridge. Work will include drilling and sampling existing soil conditions between Ward Lake Road and Revilla Road and work is ongoing. Due to safety concerns, additional traffic control will reduce traffic to one lane. Drivers should anticipate longer delays and exercise caution when driving through the work zone.
