On July 28, 2023, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) responded to a truck vs bicycle collision at the 5700 block of Commerce Blvd. A blue Ram 1500 was exiting the parking lot onto the northbound lane of Commerce Blvd, the bicyclist was traveling south on Commerce Blvd on the east side of the road when they both collided.
When RPDPS arrived at the scene, they found the bicyclist on the ground with life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck remained on scene.
RPDPS personnel along with AMR quickly tended to the bicyclist and rendered life-saving measures. The bicyclist was transported to a local area hospital. Unfortunately, the bicyclist, a 51-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was pronounced deceased.
This collision investigation is ongoing. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in this collision. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at (707) 584-2600 and refer to Case #23-2689.
