INCIDENT: PC 664/187 - Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 3445 Grand Avenue, Chino Hills (PF Chang's Restaurant)
SUSPECT(S): Lauro Rangel, 32-year-old resident of Norwalk
VICTIM(S): 40-year-old male
SUMMARY: On July 29, 2023, at about 3:00 p.m., deputies from the Chino Hills Police Department were dispatched to a shooting that at the PF Chang's Restaurant at 3445 Grand Avenue, in the city of Chino Hills.
Upon arriving, deputies learned Lario Rangel entered the business' kitchen and shot an employee. Preliminary information indicates another employee of the restaurant intervened, restrained Rangel, and held him until deputies arrived. The victim was transported to a local trauma center and was in stable condition.
Rangel was taken into custody and will be booked for PC 664/187 - Attempted Murder.
