Police Seek Help Locating Missing Newark Man with Schizophrenia

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s help in locating Leo Abara, 33, of Newark, who was reported missing yesterday, Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Mr. Abara, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia, was last seen at approximately 6 p.m. in the 400 block of South 17th Street. He is described as 5’6” tall and has a dark brown complexion. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, yellow Fila sneakers, and carrying a black book bag.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Leo Abara to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
