Police Investigate Hate Incident in Larkspur and Corte Madera

Larkspur, CA – July 30, 2023. Central Marin Police are investigating a hate incident that occurred this morning in Larkspur and Corte Madera.

On Sunday morning, July 30, 2023, several Larkspur and Corte Madera residents discovered small clear plastic bags on their driveways. These bags contained leaflets with anti-Semitic and racist language. The residents contacted did not see anyone in their neighborhoods distributing these leaflets nor notice any other suspicious activity.

Investigating officers took the bags and leaflets as evidence. Officers searched these neighborhoods and retrieved additional bags from driveways, lawns and front yard shrubbery. A canvass for residential surveillance cameras facing the street was completed and possible video was retrieved during the canvass that may have captured the suspect(s) or their vehicle.

The Central Marin Police does not condone nor tolerate any form of hate speech. An informational report will be sent to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office regarding this hate incident.

Please contact Central Marin Police Authority if you have received similar materials or can assist with providing residential surveillance video for Saturday night (7/29) to Sunday morning (7/30), which would be helpful with identifying suspect(s) or their vehicle.
