800 Monroe Resiliency Park Community Meeting Reminder 

The virtual community meeting on 800 Monroe Resiliency Park is tonight, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m.  The project team will present two draft design concepts for the park that are informed by community feedback gathered on the initial concept designs presented at the April public meeting. The community input received during the upcoming meeting and survey will then be used to create a final concept design for the City's fourth resiliency park.   To register for the meeting, go to hobokennj.gov/800monroemeeting. Register for fall tennis

Registration for fall tennis instruction will open on Monday, Aug. 14, at 5 p.m. Hoboken youth between the ages of 6 and 14 years old are eligible to register. To register, go to https://hoboken.recdesk.com/Community/Program.

Registration for all other previously announced fall recreation programs including flag-football, soccer, and tackle football will close on Aug. 16 at 12 p.m. Those who attempt to register after the deadline will be automatically placed on the waitlist.

Purchase tickets to the Spaghetti Dinner Block Party

Hoboken community members can purchase tickets to the annual Hoboken Spaghetti Dinner Block Party.

The event, which started in 2005 as a celebration of Hoboken's 150th Anniversary, will be on Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. along the waterfront walkway between First and Second Streets.

Tickets are $40 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for children 12 years old and younger. Tables for up to 10 people are $400.

Tickets can be purchased online at RecDesk: https://hoboken.recdesk.com/Community/Program. The deadline to purchase a ticket online is Monday, Aug. 21. 

Tickets can also be purchased by mailing a check or money order, payable to the City of Hoboken, to Hoboken Cultural Affairs Office, 94 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ 07030.

Those who purchase tickets through the mail must include their name, address, phone number, email, and the amount and type of tickets they want. The City must receive ticket requests bought by mail by Aug. 15.

No tickets will be sold at the door.

Attend extended office hours with Hudson Pride Center

The City of Hoboken's Office of Constituent Services will have extended office hours with Hudson Pride Center on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hoboken City Hall. 94 Washington St. Hoboken community members can stop by to meet with City and Hudson Pride Center staff, get free and confidential rapid HIV testing, free giveaways, information on local services, and more.

Apply to be a Hoboken Green Business

The City of Hoboken and Hoboken Green Team are still accepting applications for the 2023 Green Business Recognition Program.

Each year, the program distinguishes local businesses for their deliberate efforts to advance sustainability for their customers, employees, and community. Over 30 businesses have participated in the program since its 2017 inception.

Interested businesses must apply by Friday, Sept. 1, at hobokennj.gov/green-business-application.

To be eligible, businesses must qualify for a minimum of 20 sustainability points for their actions through the evaluation matrix. To access the matrix and learn more about the program, go to https://www.hobokennj.gov/resources/hoboken-green-businesses.

ResilienCity Park upgrades; Construction activities can be found online

Updates are being made to the spray feature at ResilienCity Park. The splash area will be closed this week.
