Full Notification

On August 2, 2023, at 2128 hours, Simi Valley Police officers responded to a call of an armed robbery with a gun at Paul's Liquor, located at 2760 Tapo Canyon Road.  The store clerk/RP had tackled one of the suspects and was currently detaining him, awaiting officers.  Gilberto Marquez Bernarbe (30 years, a Simi Valley resident) was arrested; the gun used was not located at the time of the arrest. 

A second suspect, described as a H/M/A wearing a black and red hoodie, black pants, and a black ski mask, armed with a golf club,  is also outstanding.

The property taken was cash, an unknown number of cigarette packs, and an 18-pack of beer.  Further investigative info revealed Bernarbe passed the firearm off to the second suspect before being caught by the clerk.  

While there is a suspect outstanding, there does not appear to be any specific or immediate threat to the public, and no injuries were reported by the involved parties.
