INCIDENT: PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: Choco Road and Corwin Road, Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 22-year-old female of East Los Angeles
23-year-old male of East Los Angeles
5-month-old female of East Los Angeles
SUSPECT(S): Icela Martin, 27-year-old female of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: Sergeant James Marshall, of the Apple Valley Police Department, responded to a report of a possible road rage incident on Corwin Road, on July 30, 2023, at approximately 3:02 am.
Sgt. Marshall located the involved vehicles near Choco Road and Corwin Road a short time later and both parties remained at the location. Deputy Steven Jacquez responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Deputy Jacquez learned that Icela Martin had contacted the victims on Tao Road. Martin was yelling at them as she approached the vehicle and began banging on the vehicle. The victims were able to drive away and Martin followed in her vehicle.
Icela Martin was arrested and transported to High Desert Detention Center. Upon review of the case, the Victorville District Attorney’s office filed felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
