CENTRAL MARIN POLICE AUTHORITY AND SFPD ARREST CARJACKING SUSPECT
Corte Madera: Detectives from the Central Marin Police Authority arrested a suspect for carjacking and conspiracy.
On July 30, 2023, around 3:48 p.m., Central Marin Police Authority received a 9-1-1 call from a victim of a carjacking in the 5000 block of Paradise Drive in Corte Madera. Officers arrived but the suspects had already fled the area. The victim had been forced to surrender the keys to his vehicle by two suspects who both produced semi-automatic handguns.
Patrol Officers interviewed the victim, witnesses, and obtained security video showing this violent felonious crime. Central Marin Police Detectives worked in partnership with San Francisco Police Department and Richmond Police Department to identify suspects, identify the suspect vehicle, and to attempt to locate the victim’s stolen vehicle.
On August 2, 2023, the San Francisco Police Department notified the Central Marin Police Authority Investigations Unit that they detained a suspect in the victim’s stolen vehicle. Central Marin Police Detectives traveled to San Francisco Police Department to interview the suspect. 18-year-old, Nolan Rivera, San Francisco, was arrested for carjacking and conspiracy to commit a crime. Rivera was booked in Marin County Jail where his bail was set at $500,000.
