Deputies Find Multiple Firearms While Investigating Terrorists Threats and Arrest Five Suspects

INCIDENT: Five Big Bear City Residents Arrested for Numerous Felonies
LOCATION: 1000 Block of Mount Doble Drive, Big Bear City; 1100 Block of Kickapoo Drive, Big Bear City
SUSPECT(S): Jeramie Bourgeois, 44-year-old Resident of Big Bear City
Che Anderson, 49-year-old Resident of Big Bear City
Shady Davis, 39-year-old Resident of Big Bear City
John Powers, 55-year-old Resident of Big Bear City
Denise Mazzotti, 54-year-old Resident of Big Bear City

SUMMARY: On August 2, 2023, deputies responded to a terrorist threats call for service. The victim informed deputies Jeramie Bourgeois pointed a firearm toward the victim and threatened to kill the victim for telling people Bourgeois was a registered sex offender.
Deputies authored a search warrant for Bourgeois' residence located in the 1000 block of Mount Doble Drive. The search warrant was served later in the day, however, Bourgeois was not home. Deputies located a suppressed AR-15 sytle rifle, a revolver with an obliterated serial number, a .45 caliber handgun, .50 caliber ammunition, and methamphetamine.
Shady Davis and Che Anderson were residing at the residence and had access to the firearms and controlled substances. Anderson is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Additionally, the trailer Bourgeois resided in at the location was reported stolen. A warrant for Bourgeois' arrest was authored and later approved.
On August 3, 2023, at about 12:00 PM, deputies served a second search warrant in the 1100 block of Kickapoo Drive. Bourgeois was located and arrested. Deputies conducted a search of the residence and found approximately 10 more firearms and numerous rounds of ammunition. John Powers and Denise Mazzotti also resided at the residence. Powers and Mazzotti were also convicted felons and prohibited from possessing firearms.
Bourgeois was arrested for PC 422 - Terrorist Threats, CVC 10851 - Vehicle Theft, and PC 496(D) - Possession of Stolen Property. Anderson was arrested for HS 11370.1(A) - Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, and PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Davis was arrested for HS 11370.1(A) - Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed. Powers was arrested for PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Mazzotti was arrested for PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
All suspects were booked into custody at the Big Bear Jail. Davis and Anderson have an arraignment hearing for this matter set on August 4, 2023, in the San Bernardino County Superior Court. Bourgeois, Powers, and Mazzotti have an arraignment hearing set for August 7, 2023, also in the San Bernardino County Superior Court.
