Crash Leads to Felony Arrest On 8/3/23, at 10:24 pm, Janesville Officers were sent to 731 S. Wuthering Hills Drive, Sidelines Sports Bar, for a traffic accident. Witnesses were reporting the driver crashed into a bolder in the parking lot. The driver grabbed a back pack out of the car and began running into a nearby field. Just before officers were arriving, the reporting person advised the driver returned back on scene and was back by the vehicle. Officers had contact with Giovanny Zendejas-Castellanos who showed signs of impairment. He failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI 1st offense. K9 Viktos was utilized for an article search, as the driver was reported to have come back to the car without the backpack. K9 Viktos tracked to a field and located a stolen firearm and the backpack containing identifying information for Zendejas-Castellanos. He later fought with officers at a local hospital and was eventually taken to the Rock County Jail where he is waiting for his initial appearance.
