Flooding possible in low-lying areas; Avoid flood-prone intersections
The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Northern New Jersey through early Tuesday morning as multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are predicted for the area. Flash flooding is possible.
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) reminds residents to exercise caution as any intense rainfall of greater than 0.8 inch per hour could result in flooding in low-lying areas.
Residents should avoid flood-prone areas. Do not drive around barricades.
Please report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets by calling the NHSA Hotline at (866) 689-3970.
Residents should monitor local forecasts for additional advisories, watches, and warnings. Updates will be posted on the Hoboken OEM twitter page at @HobokenOEM. Residents are also encouraged to monitor the City’s Twitter at @CityOfHoboken and Facebook at facebook.com/hoboken, or sign up to receive email or text updates by visiting www.hobokennj.gov/alerts.
