Annoying a Child
On August 6, 2023, at approximately 6:50 PM, Officers were dispatched to a report of male subject, identified as Jade Young (30, Petaluma), who was harassing female juveniles. Young had initially passed by the victims walking in the area of the Balshaw Bridge. As Young approached the victims, he made multiple sexual comments in nature to females who were obvious juveniles. The victims immediately took off running towards E Washington Street as Young quickly followed behind them. The victims reached the area of E Washington Street and Baylis Street as they called the Petaluma Police Department to report the incident. Young was last seen in the parking lot of Auto Zone attempting to conceal himself in the bushes. The victims provided a description of Young to the communication center and his last known location. It was reported Young was touching his groin area while concealed behind the bushes. Officers arrived on scene and contacted Young where he was described. Upon contact, Young was still touching his groin area. Young was immediately detained in handcuffs.
Young was arrested for annoying a child under the age of 18 years of age. A records check also showed Young was on misdemeanor probation. Young was booked in the Sonoma County Jail for the listed charge and violation of probation.
