* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southern McDowell County in western North Carolina... Central Rutherford County in western North Carolina... Transylvania County in western North Carolina... Henderson County in western North Carolina... Polk County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Jackson County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Haywood County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Buncombe County in western North Carolina...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 401 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles east of Downtown Asheville to 9 miles southwest of Brevard, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Downtown Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Marion, Rutherfordton, Columbus, East Asheville, Arden, West Asheville and Black Mountain.
