Police Seek Help in Identifying U-Haul Truck Theft Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with the theft of a 2022 Ford U-Haul truck on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
An employee of U-Haul reported that a truck that was dropped off at 1 a.m. was stolen from the facility, located in the 800 block of Broadway, at 5 a.m. The male suspect used a silver object to pull the truck’s keys from the business's return box before fleeing in the vehicle, headed north on Broadway towards Verona Avenue.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned male with blonde/brown long hair, and multiple tattoos on his neck, arms, and legs. The U-Haul truck bears an Alabama registration of AL793335.
