Arroyo Grande Police Traffic Unit hosting Citizen Radar/LIDAR class 
Have you ever wondered how speed limits are determined in California, how police radar/LIDAR works, or wanted to test your ability to accurately guess how fast cars are driving?
Join the Arroyo Grande Police Department’s Traffic Unit on Friday, August 25th, 2023, from 3pm to 5:30pm for a “crash course” in speed enforcement laws and procedures. Students will meet at the Arroyo Grande Police Station for a presentation on speed laws in California. We’ll breeze through a hands-on exercise showing you how to use a police radar device. The group will then take a brisk walk to a nearby downtown street where participants can test one another’s ability to visually estimate the speed of passing vehicles.
