SUMMARY:
On Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:27am, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a 911 call in the 18000 block of Montezuma Street in Adelanto.
According to the adult female victim, she was walking past an apartment complex in the 18000 block of Montezuma Street in Adelanto when the suspect, later identified as Tyvell Thomas, grabbed her from behind and started dragging her towards the apartments. The victim fought with Thomas and continued to yell for him to let her go. Thomas continued to drag her approximately 15 feet before a witness started yelling at him and he let her go. Thomas then walked into the apartment complex and the victim lost sight of him.
While deputies were interviewing the victim outside the apartment complex, Thomas exited the apartment complex and was arrested without incident for kidnapping. While Thomas was being transported to High Desert Detention Center, he spit on the deputy through the bars in the patrol unit.
