DUI driver arrested after causing a collision and injuring another party.

Suspects: Douglas Green (70-year-old, Petaluma Resident)
Charges: Driving Under the Influence (23153(a) CVC)
Driving with a Suspended License (14601.2(a) CVC)
On August 7, 2023, at approximately 8:40 PM, personnel from the Petaluma Police Department and Petaluma Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Stony Point Rd and Petaluma Blvd N on report of a vehicle collision.
Officers arrived on scene and learned Douglas Green (70, Petaluma Resident) was traveling westbound on Petaluma Blvd N and made a right turn to travel northbound on Stony Point Rd. At that time, another motorist was traveling southbound on Stony Point Rd in the left turn lane. Green made a wide turn and crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic. Green ultimately collided head-on into the front of the other vehicle.
The collision injured the other involved driver who was evaluated by a paramedic on scene and ultimately transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
A records check indicated Green’s driver license was suspended as a result of a prior DUI. The investigating officer observed Green had objective signs of intoxication and conducted a DUI investigation. Upon completion of the DUI investigation Green was placed under arrest for the following charges:
23153(a) VC - DUI Collision Causing Injury
14601.2(a) VC - Drive While License Suspended for DUI
Green was later booked at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on the above listed charges.
