Flood Advisory until 12:45PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford. Portions of Missouri, including the following counties, Barton, Cedar, Dade, Jasper, Lawrence and Vernon.

* WHEN...Until 1245 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 852 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossings... Sons Creek at County Road 113, Dry Fork at Pine Road, East Fork Dry Wood Creek at NW 110th Lane, Lousy Branch at County Road 85, Dry Wood Creek at Highway K and Muddy Creek at Highway 126. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pittsburg, Carthage, Fort Scott, Lamar, Girard, Greenfield, Frontenac, Oronogo, Arma, Lockwood, Jasper, Golden City and Liberal, - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
