Flash Flood Warning until 11:30PM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Baxter County in north central Arkansas... Boone County in north central Arkansas... Marion County in north central Arkansas...

* Until 1130 PM CDT.

* At 827 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the past hour...some of which has fallen in areas that saw heavy rainfall this morning. Additional thunderstorms are expected to move over these same areas over the next hour or two... with additional heavy rainfall expected. As a result...flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Harrison, Mountain Home, Bull Shoals, Yellville, Gassville, Flippin, Lakeview in Baxter County, Diamond City, Norfork, Salesville, Bergman, Lead Hill, Briarcliff, Pyatt, Valley Springs, Omaha, Arkawana, Dugger, Lakeway and Dodd City.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BAXTER, AR ... BOONE, AR ... MARION, AR

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
